Cooling Fan Clutch

Some cars use a fan clutch to keep cool. The fan is attached to a clutch assembly which is then attached to a belt on the front of the engine. When the car is at idle or at a cool temp, the clutch partially disengages the fan to save power. Once the vehicle temperature rises to the preset temperature of the clutch, the clutch will engage the fan fully to pull cooler air in through the cars radiator. One of the worst things you can do to an engine is over heat it. Making sure your cooling fan is operational is a crucial part in keeping your engine cool.
