We’ve been in business since 1985 and have grown into one of the internet’s leading used parts sellers. We’re a privately owned brick and mortar business that strives to make our loyal local and internet customers happy at every step of the transaction. This isn’t a junk yard anymore; Tom’s is a state of the art auto recycling facility located in Waterbury CT. Every part of each car we dismantle is recycled or re used in an eco-friendly manner.
Our process starts with buying inventory from salvage auto auctions, local shops, and street customers. Buying quality cars to dismantle is key to making sure our used part inventory is nothing but quality. A dedicated inventory specialist looks over each car that gets here to judge what parts are re usable and what part are not. At that point we take 80+ photos of the car along with short narrated video of the vehicle. This step helps provide the buyer with as much information as possible when buying a part from us. The #1 goal is to build confidence in each used auto part purchase you make with us so you’ll be re assured that you’re getting a quality part.
When we dismantle a car, our skilled staff of auto dismantlers removes each part and carefully checks to make sure it’s in good condition. From there it either gets moved over to the shipping area to get shipped or it’ll get moved to a shelf location inside one of our buildings. All parts are stored inside to keep them safe from the elements. We take a minimum of three pictures per part when we pull it so that you can see exactly what part you’re buying before it arrives at your house. With over 300,000 pictures on our servers and 2,500+ videos, you’ll know exactly what you’re buying when you shop with Tom’s Foreign Auto Parts.
The final step is in our shipping department where our shipping staff carefully packs your used auto part and gives it one last quality check.
